No Child Left Behind

In 2002, President Bush signed the bipartisan No Child Left Behind Act also known as (NCLB).

On January 8, 2002, the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act of 2001 was passed by Congress. This federal law contains the most sweeping changes to the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) since it was enacted in 1965. NCLB also has made the federal role in education more prominent than ever.

The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) replaces No Child Left Behind (NCLB). Instead of a universal accountability system for all states, ESSA gave states the flexibility to develop accountability systems that best measure student success in their respective states.

Criticisms of No Child Left Behind faced many criticisms after its implementation. One major concern was its focus on high-stakes testing and the pressure on schools to raise test scores. Critics argued that this led to teachers “teaching to the test" that opposed to providing a well-rounded education.

Flaw #1: Overemphasizing Standardized Testing of NCLB put test-based accountability into federal law, subsequently solidifying the state standardized test as the sole benchmark through which all schools are measured. The consequences of this cannot be underestimated.

Major concern was its focus on high-stakes testing and the pressure on schools to raise test scores. Critics argued that this led to teachers “teaching to the test." This is opposed to providing a well-rounded education.

The difference between the Every Student Succeeds Act and No Child Left Behind. The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) is the main federal law for K–12 general education. It covers all students in public schools. When it was passed in 2015, ESSA replaced the controversial No Child Left Behind (NCLB).

The Main Goals of NCLB was aimed to make all public school students proficient in reading and math. It also tried to close the academic achievement gap that left many groups of students behind. Children from low-income families, members of minority groups, and those with disabilities were a key part of that goal.

Why do teachers not like No Child Left Behind was salient findings revealed that teachers believe NCLB is having negative impacts on instructional and curricular practices, including higher levels of stress related to improving student performance. Teachers reported several changes in how they assess students.

Early Compulsory Education Laws in the U.S. which Massachusetts became the first U.S. state to enact a compulsory education law in 1852. It had already passed a similar law in 1647 when it was still a British colony. And the 1852 law required every city and town to offer primary school focusing on grammar and basic arithmetic.

One reason for the acceptance by the states of these laws was the belief that the public school was the best means to improve the literacy rate of the poor and to help assimilate an immigrant population that grew at a high rate between the mid nineteenth to the early twentieth centuries. I believe the system has failed miserably.

It become illegal to not go to school in U.S. concept of truancy dates to the 19th century when states began implementing compulsory attendance laws; by 1918, all states had a law mandating school attendance. I believe this was done just for the money.

New grading scale impacts thousands of Tennessee students

Tennessee's previous grading scale meant getting a 90 in the Volunteer State was a 'A. ' The letter grades then negatively impacted students' grade point averages. Every state that borders Tennessee is on a 10 point scale. That is, 10 points per question of 10. 100 points means 1 point per 100 questions.

At one point in mine & my daughter school tender, your passing grade was delt on the scale of 0-69 Failed, 70-79 "C," 80-89 "B," and 90 above "A."

Now in today's society of "No Child Left Behind" and Politically Correct Agenda, students are Graduating at an alarming rate  and broadline stupidity because of the grading system now used. 0-59 Failed, 60-69 now "D," 70-79 now "C," 80-89 now "b," and 90-100 still an "A."

This folks, Does Not bring the quality of our school system up, It instead, degrades it. If our school system turns out more stupidity than educated students, How is that quality? I have ran into today's school generation who have graduated, some with honors, who can barely write, read and spell. Some of them ranked no more than a 5th grade level.

No! Our school system and this government Does Not Have Our Good Intentions laid at hand. Instead, the government wants to mandate things because they "Can Not" get you to "Volunteer" to comply.

By lower the standards, The government has also lowered the quality it turns out after 14 years of Deliberate brain washing tactics place into the school system 20 plus years.

With election In November 2024, we the people need to stop! Stop going and telling who we will vote for.

DON'T VOTE this election and put 556 jobs at risk, just as the same government put your job, benefits, and health at risk.

By Not Voting, They can not stay in office and be our government. Vote Out Corruption and Blind justice at all levels.

Judges, District Attorneys and alike, should only be aloud 8 years on the seat and then must go. After 8 years, they can run again.

Step down the Corruptness at election, Step down Corruptness at Court Levels and official offices and put a stop to convicting innocent people.

Until "We The People," of 333 million people can stop government tyranny, it's only going to get worse for the U.S. Citizens and Adolf Hitler government that is coming if we don't!

    Let that Sink In!!!!!
