    I just want to remind you guys that we are your bosses, so when we come up here and talk, you need to sit up straight and pay attention. By the way, the First Amendment is not optional. We have a constitutional right to criticize our government and its officials. It’s not out of order just because you don’t like what’s being said, and respect is earned, not given.

    Some of you are not a good representation of the people you serve, so do us a favor and step down. You all brought up CDBG funds multiple times tonight. Now Lincoln Park gets about 800,000 a year in these federal grants, and it could be used for things like water and sewer improvements, streets and parks.

 


    But our Capital improvement plan identifies an estimated $400,000 for flock cameras, with 264,000 from CDBG. When we are dealing with a water crisis, crumbling streets and dirty, unsafe parks, you owe us an explanation on why hundreds of thousands of dollars in grant money is being directed towards flop cameras and while we’re at it, I think we need to take those cameras and put them all inside City Hall instead.

    I don’t think that Lisa should be holding two of the highest positions in the city. In my opinion, she really shouldn’t hold either. She has worked here for nearly 30 years and sometimes somehow it seems the city is worse off today than when she started.



    And since the mayor blocked me on Facebook after I criticized the DDA’s $150,000 mural project, let’s take a look at priorities, because a lot of yours seem to be all wrong. Now that the summer concerts are over, maybe we can start focusing on some real city business.

    We don’t need or want murals right now, or the flocks surveillance either, so get the cameras to flock out of here. Also, I’m so glad that the parks were mentioned tonight because they all need a lot of work. We’re talking 30 missing swings, 24 missing basketball, and that’s graffiti, rusty, cracked equipment, missing bolts, broken benches and more. Yet the 2025 to 2026 parks budget was around $136,000, with only 82,000 actually spent.



    So no, we don’t care about your pickleball courts and your $27,000 worth of benches and trash cans. Marine parks were the top three priorities that you mentioned in your 2024 campaign. So where’s the follow-through?

    And stop blocking people on Facebook. If you’re gonna use your Facebook for city business, then we all have the right to comment on it.

Spring & Summer Fire Prevention
