Giving Up on Life
Yes, People Can Die FromGiving Up on Life!
How many of you have family?
How manu of you and your family get together?
How often does this Get Together Occur?
How many of you get together during a holiday, birthday, special activity?
How many of you remember someone, "Whoes Not Family," who has little to no one?
How many of you think of those who, "are not family," but are in and out of your life on a fair bases?
How many of them do you know, that has family or none at all, or has very little visits?
Did you contact them? Visit Them? Let them know you're thinking of them, or is it just when you needed something from them?
A study published in ScienceDirect examined the condition, which "describes people who respond to traumatic stress by developing extreme apathy, give up hope, relinquish the will to live and die, despite no obvious organic cause."
When this phenomenon occurs, when someone experiences a trauma, and they feel they cannot escape. It making death seem like their only option.
"Psychogenic death is real, but not suicide, nor is it linked to depression. The "act of giving up on life" and dying usually within days, is a very real condition often linked to severe trauma.
Five stages of condition are:
1. Social withdrawal following a trauma, people may become self-absorbed and indifferent and show a lack of emotion.
2. Apathy, an emotional or symbolic "death." Apathy is "a demoralizing melancholy different to anger, sadness or frustration.
3. Aboulia, extreme lack of motivation paired with a weakened emotional response which makes it difficult to make decisions and take initiative. In this stage, they usually lack cleanliness and frequently stop eating.
4. Psychic Akinesia. While the person is conscious, they are in a state of extreme apathy and do not react to extreme pain.
5. Psychogenic Death, is the disintegration of a person where "nothing" can make them want to live.
Psychological deterioration could originate from a "malfunction" in the anterior cingulate circuit in the brain due to severe trauma. This part of the brain controls how someone maintains goal-directed behavior and is responsible for a person's motivation.
Motivation is an essential form of coping with life and if that fails where, apathy is almost inevitable. These condition are reversible, however. Intervention can be taken in any of the various stages. Such interventions include physical activity and a person regaining a sense of control of their life.
A dark area of psychology is exploring death’s grip on a person who feels totally defeated by life. But as scientists learn more about the phenomenon, they’re finding it impacts people to be very real.
Poeple who give up on life, are those you speak to, see, have around, on a daily bases, but never know their real feelings.
What cause this, "Give Up On Life?" There are many factors to this one issue. Trauma, Apathy, Death of Someone, Alone, Outside Pressure, just to name a few. They're in part to in whole, to all in one gethering.
Has anyone thought of, "Just How Many People" died November 28th, 2024 & December 25th, 2024?
I did! I had a reason to! An estimate of 131 people may die on U.S. roads this Christmas Day and the number of deaths for October 2024 was estimated to be 4,050.
Poeple "mourn over the death" of actors, singers, movie stars, and celebrities as though they "have been" apart of their lives every day, that they are some family member, yet, the unseen die without noticing.
We are "Quick To Hear" about some actor, singer, movie star, or celebrity's death before some homeless person or some whoes "none of the above." WHY?
Because "Society (you do) does not care" until it hits homeplate. I hear people talking down about the homeless all the time. Society Talks, yet the one talking "Does Nothing To Help!"
The sad thing is, that Gossiping accounts for almost 65% of people's conversation because it's easy to do. Gosspiping is bad! It spreads lies, misleading information and degrades someone without knowing the full details. That is, gossip the act of sharing fact based information about a person when he or she is not present, and those facts could be 100% false. And even if the information is true, you are engaging in harmful gossip.
Is gossip always built on lies? It is unlikely that misrepresentation lies will dominate everyday gossip. Misrepresentation always comes with a cost: gossipers "can either mislead" the audience (and thereby do them harm) or "reciprocate the target's behaviour;" they cannot do both.
Remember this as 2024 and the Holidays come to an end.
Start your "New Year," by ending Gossip.
Start your "New Year," but visiting the less known instead of actors, singers, movie stars, and celebrities, because they're the ones who don't care about you. They only do it for the money.
Homeless and the less seen, do it because they have a heart for it.
