Christ's Victory Over Satan

Jesus came into this world as the Son of God, to reveal the Father, to be a model for the disciple's and to be our great high priest.

John 1:18
No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

1 John 2:6

He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

Hebrews 4:14

Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.

Jesus defeated the devil by death for us. The devil's lies brings nothing more than Eternal Death to those who follow him.

Death here on earth, Afterwards, brings judgment and the fear of it, rest upon you only

1 John 3:8
He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Hebrews 2:14 & 15

    Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;

And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

Hebrews 9:27 & 28
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

Jesus address the matter, our sins, when He was crucified on the Cross, a Matter of Judgement and believer's fears are relieved.

    Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

Jesus was sent to acknowledge our Father which sent Him, He gave Jesus a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.”

John 14:30

I will not speak much more with you, for the ruler of the world is coming, and he has nothing in Me

The Bible tells us that demons are fallen angels who joined Satan in his rebellion against God and who were defeated and cast out of heaven along with Satan.

Demons continue to serve the devil in his attempt to lead the world away from God and into sin.

Jesus will ultimately banish Satan and his demons into the eternal fire.

Revelation 12:7-9
And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Micheal does battle with Satan and casts him out of heaven so that he no longer has access to God as accuser (his formal role in the Old Testament).

The fall of Satan at the coming of Jesus marks the separation of the New Testament from Judaism.

Matthew 12:28
But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.

The understanding what demons are, we look to the ultimate evil spirit himself, Satan.

In Revelation, it tells us that Satan was once an angel in heaven, perhaps even a cherub. Because Satan was a heavenly being, we know that Satan as well as his angelic followers were created good.

However, by their own free will, chose to reject God and become evil demons, Fallen Angels.

While we have no definitive answer as to whether Satan rebelled against God because of his own pride or some other reason. However, we do know that a war erupted in heaven in which the archangel Michael.

Michael and his angels fought against Satan and his angels and that Satan and the other fallen angels were defeated.

As punishment for their rebellion, Satan and those fallen angels were cast out of heaven

Revelation 12:9
And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Luke 10:18
And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.

Satan became the “prince of demons,” and the kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ.

Matthew 12:24
But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.

Satan and the other fallen angels were hurled to the earth (Revelation 12:9) and ultimately condemned to hell (Matthew 25:41).

Jesus' crucifixion and death up the Cross, delivered us from our sins and the eternal death of damnation. With His crucifixion believers us to the Father of eternal life in Heaven.

1 Corinthians 15:3
For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures.

Romans 5:12
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.

Satan's fallen angels continue to serve Satan on earth by luring mankind away from God despite their expulsion from heaven and his demons continue to serve him in Satan's plot to control the earth by luring people (you) into sins against Jesus and His Father.

Revelation 12:9
And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Matthew 24:5-8
For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.

Revelation 22:12
And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
